This car came from Texas. When you look beneath, that is evident. It was originally a 396 powered car with factory air-conditioning.
Today, this car comes with a 400 small block and a turbo 400 transmission pulled from a 1974 Kingswood wagon. The engine was rebuilt before installation and now has about 15,000 miles on it. The transmission was serviced and still shifts flawlessly. It has less than 100,000 miles on it.
This car has been owned by the same man since 1992. He drove it as he bought it for a couple of years, then he restored it. He finished up the restoration in 1997.
He had new quarter skins installed. Other than that, no rust repair was needed. This car is in great shape and the underside has not been undercoated or painted since new.
The paint is Grandeur blue over Sterling silver. It has lots of metallic in it. Much of the trim was repaired and polished or replaced. Most of the rubber seals were replaced. Many, many recipts are included with this car. Both mechanical and cosmetic related.

You will see that, in addition to the engine, the entire braking and suspension systems were rebuilt. The carb was rebuilt. The radiator was recored. New shocks were installed. All new hoses were installed. New Accel coil and distributor were installed. The charging system was converted to alternator. A new fuel pump was installed. A complete new exhaust system is in place. The fuel tank was cleaned, repaired and re-lined.
The previous owner had great connections for Impala parts. The interior was re-done with mostly used parts. The front seats are SS buckets. The interior looks very nice in black. It shows some wear, but is very presentable.
This car was driven quite a bit during summers. He had put on 15,000 miles in the past fifteen years. Many trophies were earned at car shows.
We replaced the 17" billet wheels with some period correct Americans wrapped in new radial tires. These tires are identical in circumference to the originals, so the speedometer is now accurate.
The A/C compressor is missing, but the rest of the equiptment is there. You could put it together without a lot of effort or expence.
This car shows some evidence of use since the restoration. Obviously it is not perfect. Our price reflects that.
For the money, this is a very nice looking high quality daily driver. You would have nothing to explain if you were the new owner of this solid Impala from Texas.
