I have a special place in my heart for a 68 Catalina of this color. I worked on one and drove it during high school. Mine was a hardtop, not a convertible.
Due to my love for the 68 Pontiacs, I keep my eyes peeled for them. I found this car in Minnesota. It had been in Colorado.
The man tha sold it to us had worked on it, with his father, in the late 70's. Just like me! They hung new fenders and quarter panels. The local technical college students painted it. They repaired any interior issues and installed a new top.
At some time, the original engine gave out, so a 400 from a 1976 Grand Prix was swapped in. it still runs great today.
For the past 30+ years, Doug and his Dad enjoyed the convertible. Doug's family enjoyed open air touring. Now the kids have lost interest and a sports car is next for Doug and Dad.
While the car isn't absolutely perfect, it sure is a good looker and is very nice to drive. I am looking forward to showing up at the family reunion and suprising everyone. Unless you buy it first!
All features function properly. The tires and brakes are certainly serviceable. It really needs nothing but gasoline and some occupants.
Because of my fond memories of the 68 Catalina I drove in high school, this car was noticed. Perhaps these aren't the most sought after model, but being a drop-top certainly helps. This is a nice car at a great value. We hope it generates fond memories for you. Viewed: 1265 times.
