"His last hurrah" was how this car was described. The deceased owners buddy was selling the car for his widow. This car was only in his possesion for a year before he died.
Due to his already declining health, a nice solid driver was purchased. His buddy is a very capable Ford mechanic. This car has very sound mechanicals that make it a reliable driver.
The 239 Flathead V8 and Ford-o-Matic are both recently rebuilt. The engine has Pertronix ignition, rebuilt carb., remote oil filter, new belts/hoses and a new fuel pump. The radiator was just refurbished.
The exhaust system is new, as are the chrome wheels and radial tires. The electrical system has been overhauled and the battery is recent. The owner was still capable of driving, but certainly couldn't deal with a break down.
This is a solid car that he purchased from a Florida relative. We noticed the inner rockers were replaced and some weak spots in the floor were patched. But the body appears very good and shows no signs of previous body work. The paint shines nice and is of driver quality. It can't be very old. The glass is all good. Much of the chrome is original. Some is thin and has some pitting. The entire car looks great from ten feet.
The interior is similar to original and very serviceable. The carpet is of a newer loop style. The headliner is nice. We did not notice any flaws.
All features except the radio function properly, it tries and will pull in a station from time to time. The vaccuum wipers work amazingly well. All of the lights including the dome lights work properly. As do the gauges. This car was purchased to be a trouble free driver. Improvements were made to insure many more miles of driving enjoyment.
It was sold with sadness, but we are confident it will provide great joy to the next owner. Viewed: 178 times.
