transpixel We sold this car four years ago to a local man that enjoys restoring cars. He recognized how solid the car was, appreciated its Oklahoma heritage and realized that somebody else had spent a bunch of money on it already.
Prior to our ownership, the body had been off the frame. The undercarrige is in spectacular condition. We sure do admire these dry Southern cars. The original 307 had been swapped out for a built 350. The transmission is now a 700R4 overdrive model. The interior had been done to original specification.
Don took it all apart again. Everything came off but the front and rear glass. He found some rust at the bottom of the front fenders and the leading edge of the hood. He opted to purchase new fenders and a cowl induction hood from Goodmark. The body was stripped. Don applied PPG products and repainted the car to the correct Mulsanne Blue. All jambs and edges were done correctly. The trunk and hood undersides were done.
After paint, new gaskets and seals were installed. Don opted for a black vinyl roof instead of the white color that was original. New wheel, roof and rocker mouldings were installed. New door handles and mirror were installed. Seven inch rally wheels were reconditioned and wrapped in BFG Radial TA tires. The front end was aligned.
The engine was opened and freshened. We know it is a .030 over 350 produced in 1970. It has a forged steel crank and four bolt main bearings. Don installed a Competition cam and Crane 1.6 gold roller rockers. He put on a set of Iron Eagle Dart heads with 2.02/1.6 valves, 200/64 cc chambers, 7/16 studs. He installed Hedman headers with 2.5" Flowmaster exhaust. This is all within the past 500 miles. We have full specification for all components. transpixel

transpixel The intake is a Strip Dominator. It is topped by a 650 Holley double pumper. The ignition is an Accel HEI. The battery, starter, alternator and voltage regulator are new. All hoses and belts are new.
The transmission is a 700R4. It spins a 4.10 open ten bolt differential. This allows for great hole shots, yet 65 mph reads 2000 rpm on the Sun Super Tach II. Mini-gauges display other important readings. The oil pressure is 50 psi at idle.
This is a factory air-conditioned car. We have the components to put it back together if you choose.
A new Sony stereo MP3 player with Bluetooth resides in the dash. It has a remote control. Sony speakers are mounted beneath the package tray.
The interior is very nice and very correct. It is a bench seat car. The upholstery, headliner and carpet have all been replaced and are nice.
Don improved this nice Oklahoma Malibu. It is done to high quality driver standard. It is an awesome car to drive. This car will last for many memorable miles. It is done mechanically, the interior is done, the body and paint is done. Now it is your turn to enjoy the benefits of somebody else's investment and sweat. transpixel
