1951 Ford Deluxe Business Coupe

This car came from the Omaha, NE area. We have good luck buying solid cars from the Plains. No salt use and plenty of wind to keep them dry underneath during storage.

This is a true business coupe. There is no back seat, the rear quarter windows don’t roll down. It is the short-roofed coupe.

This one has the Flathead 6 cylinder engine. While it doesn’t have the legendary V8 sound, it has similar horsepower and more torque. It is backed by a three speed manual transmission with overdrive. No problems going 75 mph.

At some time, this car was lightly customized. The grill is a Desoto Grill. Cruiser skirts were added and the suspension has been lowered with blocks. The electrical system has been converted to twelve volts. There are air shocks, lake pipes and dummy spots.

We believe the engine was rebuilt, as the color was changed to the Mercury green. The water pump was recently replaced. An alternator was installed. We rebuilt the master cylinder. It was recently tuned up.
We also installed new door and glove box locks, sill plates and all new door and kick panels to match the black vinyl seat.

We installed a modern AM/FM stereo with remote control. It has a USB port.

All features, gauges and lights work with exception of the parking brake. This car starts, idles, runs, shifts drives and stops just as it should. We found some floor patches, but the frame, floor supports and inner rockers are in good condition.

This is a great looking, lightly customized business coupe. It is great to drive and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
